The VP Controller is an integral member of the Dixie Narco management team and is involved in issues affecting the entire Business Unit. The VP Controller is expected to be a major contributor to the development and execution of the unit’s annual Business Plan. The VP must be an agent for change, collaborating on Operational Excellence initiatives (via Lean Thinking, Six Sigma, etc.) throughout the organization, focusing the Business Unit on its customers and supporting e-business projects.

• Manage and lead all financial and accounting activities, including the review and approval of any financial actions and transactions being considered by the Business Unit.
• Establish and maintain financial calculations and representations in expense and capital expenditure requests. Establish, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and instructions to safeguard the Business Unit assets, ensuring compliance with Corporate policies and applicable laws and regulations.
• Ensure environment of accounting controls are in place including adherence to SOX regulations as well as Corporate Accounting and GAAP practices and policies.
• Accumulate and distribute financial information to management, ensuring such information is timely and maintained according to GAAP, tax regulations, and Corporate policies
• Provide oversight, in the functional area for the operations.
• Maintain training and development plans for direct reports and overall department.
• Maintain focus on continuous improvement through researching and sourcing innovative, cost-efficient business solutions.
• Adhere to all Company policies, safeguard the company's interests and act in an ethical and legal manner as well as report all violations of Company policies and procedures to appropriate management.

Education:

• CPA and/or Master Degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred. Training and knowledge in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Supply Management.

Experience:

• Minimum ten years experience in Controller, with a minimum of five years in a management capacity in an industrial environment.
• Highest level of integrity and honesty.

• A continuous improvement mentality, with a capacity and energy to challenge the status quo and drive change throughout the organization.
• Knowledge of all aspects of the business and disciplines.

• Ability to identify and articulate problems, propose alternative solutions, have factual backup for decisions and question prior decisions if the result do not materialize as previously projected.
• Strong cost accounting skills developed in manufacturing environments.
• Strong information technology skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Proficient in the knowledge and use of MS Office (Word, Excel).
